He/she is able to actively communicate and cooperate in solving research tasks in an international environment. He/she acts as a responsible independent scientist, works independently and in a group with the aim of pushing the boundaries of knowledge and transferring them to other areas of research, into practice and towards the wider public. The course builds on Multidimensional Statistical Methods I and delves deeper into the issues of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and related topics. The aim is to master the main theoretical points and practical skills related to using SEM and related techniques.

Upon completion of the course, the PhD student will possess theoretical knowledge of the principles and applications of the most common problems and challenges of structural modelling. Theoretical knowledge will be applicable to solving specific scientific problems and critically evaluating other researchers' applications of the given procedure. Additionally, the students will gain an overview of the latest trends in the field of SEM, enabling them to maintain up-to-date knowledge at an advanced level.

As a result of the acquired knowledge and practical skills, the course graduate can decide which procedures are appropriate to apply to a specific research problem in the given context and consider their strengths and weaknesses. They will also be able to critically evaluate the suitability and potential weaknesses of implementation within the existing research literature and the conclusions of other researchers. The student can perform various forms (e.g., CFA in the context of CBSEM) in a specific statistical program and interpret the obtained results. Moreover, the graduates will gain practical experience with statistical software such as R (lavaan) or JASP, allowing them to work flexibly with various tools according to the research needs.

The content of the course is based on selected psychological knowledge of cognitive psychology, psychology of emotions and motivation, personality psychology, developmental, social, educational psychology and health psychology. Teaching is realized by a combination of lectures with interactive, experiential methods, discussion, open communication with mutual respect, support of independence, activity and motivation of students.
