The dissertation verifies the ability and readiness for an independent scientific and creative activity in research in the field of study of Slovak history in accordance with the expectations of the relevant qualification framework and the profile of the graduate. The student demonstrates the ability and readiness for an independent theoretical and creative artistic activity, for solving theoretical and practical problems with an interdisciplinary approach, and for drawing a conclusion. The scope of the dissertation is set at 80 - 150 standard pages. Details are determined by Directive no. 1/2011 On the basic requirements for final theses, rigorous theses and habilitation theses, their publication and their availability during their retention of originality control valid for Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and its affiliated bodies. The dissertation has the character of a scientific work. It is developed based on continuous research of the student and with the use of rich documentary material, as well as scientific methods. It must meet the criteria of a good research practice defined in the Rector's Decision no. 21/2021, which lays down the rules for assessing plagiarism at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and its affiliated bodies. Fulfillment of the criteria is verified mainly in the training process and in the process of the thesis defense. Failure to do so represents grounds for disciplinary action.
