Lucia Tóthová studied Slovak language and literature and German language at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, at the Faculty of Arts in Prešov and one semester in Germany, at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. She worked in various positions. Besides the positions of a high school and university teachers, she also worked as an editor, translator, language course coordinator and asylum counsellor at the Regional Court. She currently works at the Faculty of Arts of the Pavel Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in the Language Training Centre as the head of the Slovak as a Foreign Language Section. She provides Slovak language courses for international students studying general medicine in English. She gained her experience in teaching Slovak as a foreign language at Comenius University at The Institute of Languages and Academic Preparation for International Students in Košice, and as a lecturer in the British Council in Košice, providing the language training to ambassadors and diplomats. She also participated in Bundeswehr professional interpreters training. Her resume includes language teaching in various companies and language schools. She provides general Slovak language courses for international students, including tailor-made Slovak as a foreign language courses for Ukrainian students and international students studying at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University within Erasmus programme.
