The project helps to enhance students´ language skills by providing e-learning support which enables students to systematically obtain and improve linguistic skills and knowledge for the purposes of natural sciences also in a self-study manner.

Annotation: The project aimed to create an e-learning course with modules focused on the development of listening comprehension and speaking skills of PhD students who prepare for the English language exam at the Language Training Centre, Faculty of Arts, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University. The main objective was to help improve the overall English language competence of the students necessary for conducting a variety of activities associated with their scientific and academic performance at home and abroad. The project focused on supporting and implementing new technologies, forms and methods in English language teaching using elearning and thereby offering the opportunities to improve students´ English language command.

Project title: Botanical dictionary.

Annotation: The project aimed at compiling a Latin-English-Slovak glossary of botanical terms and concepts that biology students encounter in descriptions of plant appearance, herbarium labels and taxonomic diagnoses. The glossary contains basic grammatical information about Latin terms, their English and Slovak equivalents, definitions, and examples of practical use. The glossary has been designed to serve a wider group of recipients including biology students, science and pharmacy students, professionals and general public who seek this type of information. The project outcome has been published in print and online at the university web site, which has made it broadly available.
