Lenka Lachytová is an associate professor of social work at the Faculty of Public Administration of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. In her research activities she specializes mainly in the pro-client approach and in indicators of the progress of service quality and the quality of the relationship between the recipient and social service providers in public administration. She was the advisor for five doctoral students who have completed their work. She participated in the preparation of the study program 3.1.16 Social services and counseling. She has also participated in several domestic and foreign projects and is a member of the editorial boards of domestic and foreign scientific and professional journals.

Selected projects

VEGA č. 1/0595/21: Title of the project: "Public administration interventions at the time of COVID-19 and their impact on the quality of life of citizens of selected communitie." Project length: 2021 - 2023, PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATATOR. The project summary: The aim of the project is to analyze public administration interventions during the COVID - 19 pandemic (or a similar pandemic that may occur in the future. In the following text we will talk about COVID - 19.) and its impact on quality of life of selected communities such as seniors and low-income citizens. According to the current situation, the selection of the given communities is intentional and the aim is to present, on the basis of the analysis, specific measures that are contextualized by social policy priorities at various levels such as state, regional, municipal and are implemented by various entities in public administration.


VEGA č. 1/0302/18: Title of the project: "Smart cities as a possibility to implementation the concept of sustainable urban development in the Slovak Republic." Project length:  2018 - 2020, cientific co-workers. The project summary: The concept of sustainable development speaks about how economic growth that covers the needs of society, by creating the conditions of well-being in the short, medium, but especially long term. The concept built on the premise that development must meet today's needs without endangering the possibilities of continued growth for future generations. Against the background of economic and technological changes caused by globalization and integration process, the city must face the challenges in Europe, which combine elements of competitiveness and sustainable urban development at the same time. This problem affects the issue of quality of life in the city with an emphasis on issues such as housing, urban economics, culture, social and environmental conditions affecting the competitiveness of life in individual cities, not excluding the towns in the SR. The basic aim the project will be scientific analysis of smart cities factors influencing the number of changes in selected Slovak cities.


VEGA 1/0764/24: Title of the project: "Environmental attitudes, pro-environmental behaviour and its promotion." Project Lenght: 2024-2026, deputy head of the project. The project summary: In the context of the Green Transition, people need to feel a personal responsibility to act to limit climate change. The aim of the project is to explore environmental attitudes and pro-environmental behavior and to increase pro-environmental behavior in the workplace using behavioral interventions. The project will focus on the analysis of environmental factors with respect to selected demographic characteristics, psychological characteristics and politics. In relation to this, the researchers will study how organizations in the public and private sectors promote pro-environmental behavior in the work environment, both from an organizational and employee perspective.
