Ass. Prof. Stanislav Konečný, PhD.. MPA (1949). Sociologist, culturologist, economist, lawyer. Graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Arts in Prešov (1974), rigorosum at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Bratislava (1983), graduate of the Faculty of National Economy of the University of Economics in Bratislava (1983), doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law of the University in Trnava (2004), habilitation at the Faculty of Arts of the University in Prešov (2009), Master of Public Administration at the Faculty of Law of the Masaryk University in Brno and the Nottingham Trent University (2012). Many years of research experience (1978-1990) at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and at the Research Institute of Social Development and Labour. 1990-1993 Director of the Department of Social Welfare, later Director General of the Section of Social Affairs of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Republic, 1993-1996 Director of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Slovakia, 1996-1999 Director of Marketing of a multinational business company, 1999-2009 Director of the Institute for Public Administration in Bratislava, 2008-2013 member of the team of the Government Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic for Territorial Self-Government. He attended a number of foreign certified courses and study stays (Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain...). Member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals, several expert commissions of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic and other central bodies. After 1989 external teacher at the Faculty of Arts of the University in Prešov, Faculty of Arts of the University of Bratislava, Institute of Public Policy of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the University of Bratislava, Faculty of National Economy of the Econimc University in Bratislava, Faculty of Public Administration of the University of P. J. Šafárik in Košice, Faculty of Health and Social Work in Trnava, Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, University of Health and Social Work St. Elisabeth of Bratislava etc Later he was an internal university teacher at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov, currently an internal university teacher at the Department of Public Policy and Theory of Public Administration of the Faculty of Public Administration of the University of Applied Sciences in Košice. External lecturer at the Faculty of Public Policies of the University of Silesia in Opava and after nostrification in Poland (dr hab) professor at the J. Korczak WSP in Warsaw and at its faculties in Katowice and Warsaw. Author and co-author of dozens of publications and hundreds of scientific and professional studies, published and cited both at home and abroad. Responsible for several research projects. Member of the Polish Sociological Society, the International Society for Regional Science, the Slovak Sociological Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak Society for Regional Science and Policy at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak Economic Society, etc.
