Ing. Zuzana Hrabovská, PhD., was actively engaged at the Faculty of Public Administration of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University during the years 2009–2025. Within her scientific and pedagogical work, she focused on issues of regional economics in the Slovak Republic, with an emphasis on identifying and quantifying the most significant factors of regional differentiation, specifying regional policy instruments and the mechanisms through which they operate, as well as exploring alternative sources and opportunities for regional development. She has long devoted particular scientific attention to applying various approaches to quantifying regional competitiveness, with a strong focus on the specific characteristics of Slovak regions. The competitiveness of regions—together with improving quality of life, utilizing natural and human capital, and harmonizing regional and spatial development—is considered one of Slovakia’s regional development priorities up to 2030. Since 2025, she has been working at the Department of Education and Research Activities of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and she is focusing on the implementation of activities of the doctoral school within doctoral study programs.
