Dorota Sopková, MD, PhD., MBA, works at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Pavol Jozef Šafarik University in Košice as an assistant professor and Deputy Head for Education. She also works at the Forensic Medicine and Pathological Anatomy Unit of Health Care Surveillance Authority as a forensic doctor. After graduation in 2016, she continued her studies as a doctoral student at the Department of Anatomy, and in 2020 she received an academic degree „philosophiae doctor“ in the study programme anatomy, histology, and embryology. In 2020, she completed her specialization study at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin and obtained a specialization in forensic medicine. In 2024, she received the title „MBA“ (Master of Business Administration) – Healthcare manager. She is the author and co-author of several scientific publications, the co-author of one textbook, and the co-investigator of several projects. She is actively engaged in teaching, including practical classes, seminars, and lectures on subjects taught at the Department of Forensic Medicine, focusing primarily on an interactive approach to teaching using e-learning technologies. In 2022, she was appointed study advisor for students who were in the 1st year of the study program General Medicine in the Slovak language in the academic year 2022/2023. She is an active member of the Slovak Society of Forensic Medicine of the Slovak Medical Association.
