Prof. MUDr. Eva Mechírová , CSc. is professor of histology and embryology and simultaneously head of Department of histology and embryology at the Medical Faculty of P. J. Šafárik University in Košice. In the present time she works as a vice-dean of Medical Faculty for the Slovak students of 1.-3. years. She is supervisor of subject Histology and Embryology for General Medicine students in Slovak and English language and member of Committee for diploma thesis defense ( anatomy, histology and embryology; gynaecology and obstetrics) as well as member of committee for State exam of gynaecology and obstetrics). Her scientific research is focused on the immunohistochemical research and analysis of neurodegenerative diseases. She has been principal and co-investigator of many scientific research projects KEGA, VEGA and APVV. Prof. Mechírová is president of Slovak Anatomical society, nember of SMS and EFEM.
