prof. MUDr. Gabriel Valočík, PhD. is a professor of Internal Medicine and head of the 1st Department of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ in Košice and ESICD in Košice (a joint-stock company). At the same time, he is a member of Bord of Study Program Clinical Biochemistry (III- degree of study) in the field of study General Medicine. He was the supervisor of doctoral theses and diploma theses. He completed several long-term research stays at the Department of Cardiology, Free University of Amsterdam (Netherland). As part of the scientific research activities, he is engaged in research in the field of syncopal conditions, the use of new methods of echocardiography, non-pharmacological treatment of atrial fibrillation and non-invasive diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis (MDCT).
