RNDr. Imrich Géci, PhD is an assistant professor and deputy head for education at the Department of Medical and Clinical Biophysics at the UPJŠ Medical Faculty in Košice, Slovakia. At the same time, he is the guarantor of the subjects Medical Biophysics (study field Dental medicine) and Biophysics (study field Physiotherapy) and the supervisor of diploma theses and ERASMUS projects. The main areas of his current scientific research are the study and biophysical characterization of nucleic acids and proteins in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer, using 2D nano-HPLC, molecular modeling, bioinformatics tools and mass spectrometry. In 2010-2015, he was the project manager of successfully implemented two Centers of Excellence (ITMS 26220120067, ITMS 26220220143) and head of research activities in three research projects (ITMS 26220120058, ITMS 26220220104, ITMS 26220220163) funded by the EU Structural Funds (ERDF). He received the national grant from the Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Slovak Republic and SAS. He is the author of 51 publications, of which 24 original scientific papers in domestic and foreign professional journals, which have been cited more than 285 times in the WoS / SCOPUS citation indexes.
