RNDr. Ivana Tóthová, PhD. has been working as an assistant professor at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry of the Faculty of Medicine at UPJŠ in Košice since 2020. In previous years (2017-2020), she worked at ÚLaKBCh as a research scientist. After graduating from university in 2013 with a degree in Biochemistry, she enrolled in a doctoral program in Clinical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (2013-2017), during which she completed a study stay in 2016 in a working group focused on molecular biochemistry (Prof. Dr. Ondrej Slabý, PhD.) at CEITEC in the Czech Republic and in 2017 a study stay in a working group focused on "live imaging" (Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Graier, PhD.) at the Medical University of Graz in Austria. After successfully defending her dissertation, she received her PhD. in 2017. Her research activities focus on the study of nucleic acids (the role of ncRNA), mitochondrial metabolism, and oxidative stress. Since 2013, she has been a co-investigator on VEGA and APVV projects and a co-author of 28 original scientific papers published in CC journals (Scopus, HI = 9).
