Project APVV 19-046 Innovative strategy to breast cancer diagnostics and therapy based on changes in proteome of circulating leukocytes - principal investigator: Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ján Sabo, CSc.,Univ. Prof. The strategy of project is based on hypothesis that the survival of breast cancer cells in patient body includes the tumour-leukocyte communication by means of signal molecules that modifies the proteome of circulating leukocytes. The changes in proteome of circulating leukocytes can reflect the presence of cancer cells in human body or positive/negative reaction of human organism to therapy. The application of proteomics in recognition of leukocytic proteins responsive to the tumour presence in human body may be a winning strategy for comprehension of tumour escape mechanisms, immunosurveillance mechanisms, responsiveness to therapy and the development of minimally invasive proteomic biomarkers suitable for clinical routine. |
Research Agency MŠ SR - project LISPER: Integrative strategy in development of personalized medicine of selected malignant tumours and its impact on quality of life. Principal investigator of activity "Personalized therapy of breast and endometrial solid carcinomas based on proteomic analysis of mononuclear leukocytes (MNL) in peripheral blood of patients" Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ján Sabo, CSc.,University Prof. Innovative procedures for the treatment of patients with malignant oncological diseases require exact identification in the population of patients treated by standard procedures those subgroups of patients who may benefit from the so-called "precision medicine" from targeted (personalized) treatment. We can define the main objective of the project which is the improvement of the health of population via innovative diagnostics and therapeutic approaches and comparative verification of their medicinal applicability and economical suitability with the innovative potential of IHC, molecular-genetic analyses of tissue and liquid biopsies, bioinformatics, medical and information technologies. |
Research Agency MŠ SR - projekt: AKARDIO - Analysis of cardiovascular and immune response of COVID-19 patiens after recovery with focus on research of new diagnostic markers and therapeutic options. Principal investigator of subactivity 1.2: Analysis of proteome cell changes of the immune system of COVID-19 patients after recovery. Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ján Sabo, CSc.,Univ. Prof. Blood provides a dynamic reflection of physiological and pathological condition. Leukocytes constantly perfusing the human body encompass a protein-rich information encoded in quantity and quality of proteins. Pathogenesis and progression of infectious disease are associated with leukocyte-derived proteins. Analysis of proteome cell changes of leukocytes after SARS-CoV-2 infection may be utilized on evaluation of the efficacy of new developed vaccines. |
