Juliana Ferenczová, M.D. PhD. is an assistant professor at the Department of Children and Adolescents Medicine of UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine and DFN in Košice where she has been working since 1998. From 2019 she is a Deputy Head of Pedagogical Activities and a Coordinator for teaching Pediatrics at UPJŠ LF. In 2000 and 2007 she completed specialization certifications in Pediatrics and in 2010 a specialization in Pediatric Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism and Nutrition Disorders. In 2010, she received her PhD degree at the UPJŠ Medical Faculty in Košice. Currently, she is a lecturer of theoretical and practical teaching in accredited specialized fields of Pediatrics, Endocrinology and Pediatric Rheumatology. She has supervised 19 successfully defended diploma theses in the course – General medicine. She is the course-coordinator for Pediatrics 1, Pediatrics 2 and Rare Diseases, both in Slovak and English. Her research focuses on bone health and disorders of calcium phosphate metabolism in children, growth disorders and diabetes in children. She regularly publishes and presents her research in Slovakia and abroad. She is a co-investigator of research projects.
