Juraj Martonyik has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of UPJŠ since 2023. He studied psychology at UPJŠ. He received his PhD from the Institute of Social Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in the field of social psychology, with a focus on social and ethnic identity and intergroup dynamics. He worked as a psychologist in children's homes and in non-profit organizations. Currently, he teaches psychological subjects to students of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as to the therapeuticall care of patients at the 1st Psychiatric Clinic. His current scientific interest is represented by the possibilities of psychotherapy in helping addicted patients, issues related to psychological identity and its construction, as well as psychological counseling focused on various aspects of an individual's life. He is a participant in systemic psychotherapy training.
