Marko Vrzgula graduated with honour from the Medical Faculty of Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice in 2010. After finishing his medical studies, he obtained the position of a resident physician at the Department of Radiology and Imaging Techniques at Louis Pasteur University Hospital in Kosice. In 2019, he completed his postgraduate studies at Slovak Medical University in Bratislava and obtained a speciality certificate in Radiology. His main area of interest was diagnostic abdominal imaging, especially ultrasound imaging. Many certificates also complement his professional expertise in this field. In September 2020, he started working at the Department of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice. He is currently enrolled in the PhD. study programme Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. His main area of interest is pancreatic cancer. His research predominantly focuses on antioxidant enzymes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. His research findings may contribute to understanding the molecular mechanism of antioxidant enzymes in pancreatic cancer since antioxidant enzymes could be a biomarker for pancreatic cancer therapy. He is a Slovak Anatomical Society and Slovak Medical Chamber member. He conducts practical lessons and human anatomy seminars. For Marko Vrzgula, one of the most critical challenges in teaching anatomy is how to optimally adapt practical classes and seminars to meet the requirements of subsequent professional practice.
