doc. MUDr.Martina Zavacká, PhD., MPH is the head Department of Vascular Surgery Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ and VÚSCH, jsc. After graduating from UPJŠ LF in Košice she worked as an PhD. student at the 1st Surgical Clinic of Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ and UNLP, later at the Department of Vascular Surgery Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ and VÚSCH, jsc. After successfully passing her dissertation defense, she was awarded a PhD title, and continued to work at the Department of Vascular Surgery as a doctor. She became certified specialist in field of surgery and in the field of vascular surgery. She successfully completed her specialization studies at SMU in Bratislava in the specialization field of Public Health Management Specialist, Master of Public Health (MPH). After a successful habilitation, she was awarded the scientific-pedagogical title of associate professor. She performs pedagogical activities: conducts lectures and practical exercises for students of general and dental medicine in Slovak and English languages. She is a trainer and opponent of several diploma theses, also is a member of examination commissions for state final examinations in the subject of surgery and she is a member of the teaching staff and of the examination commission for specialized examinations in the field of vascular surgery. She is the author and co-author of more than 50 scientific and more than 40 professional publications published in domestic and foreign journals, textbooks, books and monographs.
