During his doctoral studies at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Science, UPJŠ in Košice, Slovakia (2010-2014), he focused on miniaturization and automation of sample pretreatment techniques for the spectrophotometric-based trace elemental analysis. With miniaturization of liquid phase microextraction and their automation using flow techniques, he has been dealing even several years after completing his third university degree. Since 2014, he has been working as an independent researcher at the Department of Medical & Clinical Biophysics, Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ in Košice, Slovakia. His scientific interests include: (i.) Application of advanced biological sample preparation methods for the "shotgun" proteomic analysis with LC-MS/MS detection, (ii.) The use of modern ion trap-based mass spectrometry approaches for clinical proteomics, and (iii.) Bioinformatic evaluation of comparative proteome analysis of different cohorts. The currents topics of his clinical research are: (a.) Differential proteomic analysis of white blood cells isolated from peripheral blood of breast cancer patients, and (b.) State-of-the-art approaches for subtyping breast carcinomas at the protein biomarker analysis level. He is author/co-author of 34 original research papers/reviews.
