Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Head of the Department of Pulmonology and Phthisiology, UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine and L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice. Graduated in General Medicine (2003) at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice and continued their doctoral studies in Internal Medicine. Defended their thesis in 2007 and was awarded a PhD. Thereafter has been involved in teaching at the UPJŠ FM continuously until present. In parallel, has worked as a physician at the Department of Pulmonology and Phthisiology at the L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice. Specialist in Pulmonology and Phthisiology (2011), Health Care Management and Financing (2016) and Somnology (2021). In 2014 spent their research fellowship in the Centre for Integrated Rehabilitation of Chronic Organ Failure (CIRO) in Horn, The Netherlands, affiliated with the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the University Hospital in Maastricht. Their research elaborates on the effects of hypoxia in chronic respiratory diseases on the cardiovascular system. Co-authored more than 160 scientific papers, of which more than 30 were published in journals indexed in CC or WoS/Scopus and were cited more than 500-times
