MUDr. Mgr. René Hako PhD., MHA, MPH, MBA is the head of the Department of Radiodiagnostics and Imaging Techniques of the Faculty of Medicine at UPJŠ and UNLP in Košice since October 1, 2020. In 2006 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at UPJŠ, Košice. After his graduation he worked for the Department of Radiodiagnostics at the Faculty of Medicine at UPJŠ and UNLP, Košice as a doctor. In the period 2012 - 2014, he foremost worked at the Department as the chief physician of the CT department, later he became the deputy head of the primary. In 2014 he was appointed to the position of head of the Department of Radiology at Železničná nemocnica in Košice. In 2016 he successfully defended his dissertation work at the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ and UNLP Košice, and was awarded the scientific and academic degree "PhD". In 2015, completing a specialization study in the Master of Health Administration, he was awarded the MHA title. In 2018, completing a specialization study in the Master of Public Health, he was awarded the MPH title. Since 2019 he works as a doctor of the Košice self-governing region Košice at the Office of the Košice self-governing region Košice. Since 2019 he works as the chairman of the Ethics Commission of the Košice self-governing region. Since 2013 he has been working as a Medical Expert - advisor for S. Health Care (Health diagnosis medicine), where in 2018-2021 the head of the Košice testing center in the International CUT center project - testing of ultrasound devices for S. Health Care Seattle USA. In 2011 and 2019, he has been the responsible organizer of emergent diagnostics - radiologist for players and IIHF (Ice Hockey World Championship, Slovakia - Košice 2011 and 2019). In pedagogical activities at the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ, it is focused on practical exercises and lectures in the field of radiology for students of general medicine in Slovak and English. As part of his publishing activities, he is the author of 5 publications registered in SCOPUS as the first author and co-author, he has published 13 citations in foreign journals in the Scopus database. H-index 2. He has published more than 40 publications and has made more than 35 presentations at professional events.
