Academic Acting Director of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the clinic in the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University and at Faculty Hospital of L. Pasteur in Košice since2005. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice he worked as junior doctor in the 2nd Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University. In 1995, he obtained his first medical postgraduate certification in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at SZU/Slovak Medical University/ in Bratislava. In 1995, he held the post of assistant professor in the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. In 2000, he obtained his second medical postgraduate certification in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at SZU in Bratislava. In 2004, he defended his dissertation thesis in the study programme of Gynaecology and Obstetrics on topic : „ Integration of New Markers into Antenatal Screening of Chromosomal Abnormalities.“ In 2006, he got a medical postgraduate certification in the field of Ultrasound in Gynaecology and Obstetrics and in 2007 in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine In 2010, his habilitation in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics was on Prenatal Ultrasonographic Diagnostics of Chromosomal Abnormalities in the Second Trimester of Gravidity. In 2011, he received a postgraduate MPH certification as public health service manager. In 2017, he was appointed professor in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. He took part in a number of study trips, professional courses not only in his home country but also abroad/ Vyškov, Praha UPMD, Katowice, Krakow, Barcelona, Vienna, Berlin, Praha-Motol, La Roche surYon- France./ He focused his interest and scientific research activities on: endoscopy, prenatal diagnostics and high –risk pregnancy. In the framework of his pedagogical activities he supervised 20 master theses and lead the training of 2 doctoral students. He is the author or co-author of 201 scientific and professional works which were published both in domestic and foreign scientific journals, textbooks and monographies. He has more than 110 citations out of which there are 69 with registered citation indexes WoS or Scopus. He gave more than 125 lectures at domestic and international events. Since 2007 he has been running a three-day long professional course on ultrasound prenatal diagnostics for over 50 participants from all over Slovakia.This event is organised annually in cooperation with Vienna International School of 3D/4D Ultrasound, the so- called VISUS. He is the member of numerous professional societies and scientific sections /SGPS, SSUM, ISUOG/ He is divorced and he has got a son and a daughter. His favourite free time activities are cycling, paddleboarding, fishing, skialpinism and downhill skiing.
