RNDr. Timea Spakova, PhD. works as a researcher at the Associated Tissue Bank at the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice (since 2009). She completed her university studies at Faculty of science UPJŠ in Košice in the field of chemistry, where after successfully defending her dissertation she obtained a PhD degree in the biochemistry study program in 2008. She is currently studying the mechanism of bone and connective tissue regeneration using autologous mesenchymal stem cells, platelet-rich plasma and their extracellular products. She is the author or co-author of more than 20 original scientific papers published in journals registered in CC databases, more than 18 scientific papers published in databases outside CC, 1 chapter in monographs. Her works have been cited more than 500 times in WoS or Scopus databases (H-index 11). She was/is the co-worker of several domestic projects APVV (3), VEGA (7) and NFP (4) and the chief worker of two VEGA projects.
