Prof. Viliam Donic, MD, PhD. is a professor of normal and pathological physiology at the Department of Medical Physiology UPJŠ in Košice. Also, he serves as guarantor of the postdoctoral DPhil/PhD study program committee for Normal and Pathological Physiology at Pavol Jozef Safarik University. He also works as a lecturer and member of the examination committee of the certification study program Somnology. He also works as a lecturer and a member of the examination commission in the certification study program for the certified work activity Somnologia. He was the supervisor of 4 successfully defended postdoctoral PhD theses in the study program normal and pathological physiology. As part of his research activities, he specializes in sleep medicine, ventilatory treatment of sleep apnea and new methods of treatment of sleep-disordered breathing. He participates in several basic and applied research projects. He is the author/co-author of textbooks and more than 400 original scientific and professional works published in national and international journals, which have been cited more than 450 times. Prof. Donic, specializes in internal medicine. He completed internships, courses and research stays abroad.
