Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Vladimír Kaťuch, PhD., MBA, is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Deputy Head of the Neurosurgical Clinic for Health Care. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal Czech and Slovak Neurology and Neurosurgery. He is the supervisor of 2 doctoral theses in the study program of surgery, successfully defended 4 diploma theses and solved 4 diploma theses. As part of his research activities, he studies risk factors for complications after operations on the cervical and lumbar intervertebral discs, as well as the possibility of regeneration of intervertebral discs in degenerative damage. Another research project is looking at new possibilities for the diagnosis of spinal cord cancers. He participates in solving several basic and applied research projects. He is the author/ co-author of several scientific and professional works published in foreign and national journals, textbooks, books and monographs that have been cited in foreign and national journals.
