Prof. MUDr. Ingrid Hodorová, PhD. is a Professor of Anatomy, Head of the Department of Anatomy and Vice-Dean for Educational Activities at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. For more than two decades she has been actively and systematically involved in shaping the teaching of anatomy and, through her expertise, organisational skills and personal approach, has significantly influenced the quality of medical education. She is the guarantor of key courses Anatomy 1 and 2 in both Slovak and English, initiated the course Clinical and Ultrasonographic Anatomy and is actively involved in teaching several study programmes. She has long focused on the modernisation and internationalisation of education, the introduction of innovative teaching methods and the integration of theoretical knowledge with imaging techniques and clinical practice. She is the author of several teaching texts and the university textbooks Ultrasonographic Anatomy I and II and serves as President of the Slovak Anatomical Society. For her outstanding pedagogical and organisational work, she was awarded the Rector’s Award of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University for Exceptional Contribution to Higher Education. Her research focuses on the study and detection of selected proteins as potential predictive and prognostic biomarkers in carcinogenesis in oncology patients. As a long-term supervisor of doctoral and diploma theses, she significantly contributes to the development of medical education and to shaping a new generation of physicians and educators.
