I am a research and teaching staff member at the Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. I have been working at the faculty since 2015, when I obtained my PhD in Applied Mathematics. My research focuses on advanced data aggregation methods and the theory of non-additive measures and integrals, with recent work in image processing. I have published more than 20 articles indexed in Scopus. I have presented my results at many conferences and have been fortunate to receive awards for my work. At the FUZZ-IEEE 2019 conference in New Orleans, I received the Best Poster Award, and a joint paper with my PhD student was awarded the Best Student Paper Award at IPMU 2024 (author: Basarik). I review articles for prestigious journals and contribute to conference organization. I served as Area Chair at EUSFLAT 2021 and was a member of the Programme Committee for UM 2024 and EUSFLAT 2025. I enjoy working with students – so far I have supervised 20 bachelor’s and master’s theses and co-supervised one doctoral dissertation. I believe mathematics is meaningful, and I enjoy making it accessible to students and the wider public.

Selected projects

APVV-16-0337 "Integration in the context of generalized measures" (2017-2021), Principal Investigator: Ondrej Hutník

The project is devoted to several actual aspects of building the integrals based on non necessarily additive measures. On the one hand side there are studied integrals based in the classical level measure of Borel sets, which are certain classes related to copulas and semicopulas, and they include famous nonadditive integrals of Choquet, Shilkret and Sugeno, as well as many others. On the other side, the project develops the concept of super level measures and integrals based on this concept that provides a strong tool for solving problems in harmonic and time-frequency analysis.

SK-PL-18-0032 "Integrals with respect to nonadditive measures and their applications" (2018-2021), Principal Investigator: Ondrej Hutník

The bilateral project deals with the approach to integration and data aggregation in the context of nonadditive measures. The expected results are necessarz and sufficient conditions for the validitz of some inequalities for nonadditive integrals, the development of calculus for some classes of such integrals and the introduction of new integrals that would be suitable in the evaluation of scientometric data.

VEGA 1/0657/22 "Generalized aggregation operators: theory and applications" (2022-2025), Principal Investigator: Hutník

The project is devoted to basic research in data aggregation and applications of obtained results in multicriteria decision making, modeling of complex dependencies, engineering and economic areas. In the project we develop a theoretical background for aggregation based on the present concept of conditional aggregation operators. The main part of the project is related to study of generalized survival functions, level measures and nonadditive/nonlinear integrals based on them. Third part is related to research of measures of uncertainty, in which we focus on a study of aggregations of Choquet-Stieltjes type in entropy and divergence context having regard to use in risk theory.
