He is an associate professor at the Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Science, UPJŠ in Košice. He defended his dissertation in the field 11–17–9 Theory of teaching mathematics (topic: Use of multimedia technologies in education) and habilitated in the field 9.2.3 Theory of teaching informatics (topic: Inquiry-based education of informatics) at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics of Comenius University in Bratislava. He specializes in diagnosing students' computer thinking and its development through programming, diagnosing students' programming misconceptions, developing inquiry-based and project-based methodologies for teaching informatics. He teaches subjects focused on initial programming (Scratch, App Inventor, MakeCode), didactics of informatics and didactics of programming, educational software, creation, and processing of multimedia, pedagogical practice at training schools. He is a member of the program committee of the Czech-Slovak Student Scientific Conference in Didactics of Informatics and a member of the program committee of the international conference DidInfo. He is the co-author of 3 monographs focused on informatics and science education, 5 informatics textbooks for secondary schools, and dozens of methodologies for teaching informatics at secondary school. He transfers the results of his research and pedagogical work to in-service and pre-service informatics teachers through presentations at didactic conferences and seminars, his own Informatics Teachers' Club, and also Erasmus+ lecture mobilities. He is also co-organizer, author, and corrector of competition tasks of the PALMA junior programming competition in Python for secondary and primary school students.
