Kožurková, Mária, professor, PhD. is an accomplished expert in the research field focused on interactions between low-molecular substances and DNA and BSA/HSA. She has considerable experience in leading and coordinating research teams. Her research and teaching achievements include being awarded the Dean’s Award for Research by the Dean of the Faculty of Science in 2015 and she holds the position of visiting professor at the Biomedical Research Centre in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Her more than 53 publications in foreign CC journals have been cited over 595 times (approximately 354 times in the last 5 years, according to SCI and Scopus). She is the author/co-author of 6 coursebooks and textbooks. She has been the principal investigator in two VEGA projects and a deputy investigator in one VEGA project and one KEGA project. These projects were all successfully completed. She has also been an investigator in six other VEGA projects, two APVV projects, and four KEGA projects. She has been an investigator in three projects financed by the EU Structural Funds (IRES National Project OPV-2011/1.2/03-SORO, SOFOS 003/2013/1.2/OPV, IT Academy – Education for the 21st Century OPLZ-PO1/2016/NP/ 1.1.1/1.3.1-03. She is currently the principal investigator in one VEGA project. Under her supervision, seven students successfully completed their PhD. (in the case of one student, she had the role of supervisor specialist) and she currently supervises one PhD. student and one PhD. candidates. She has supervised 34 bachelor’s theses, 43 master’s theses, and 11 rigorous theses. She has reviewed 1 inauguration, 2 habilitation theses, 15 PhD dissertations, 12 rigorous theses, 50 master’s theses, and 34 bachelor’s theses. She has also been a reviewer of 7 VEGA projects, 13 KEGA projects, and more than 80 publications. She has mentored students participating in the Student Scientific Conference – 32 students in the faculty round; four students placed in the national round in Bratislava. She also leads Students’ Professional Activities. She guarantees the postgraduate study field 4.1.22 Biochemistry in both full-time and part-time form. She is a member of the Commission for Doctoral Study in the fields of Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, and Plant Physiology. She is a member of state examination committees for master’s studies (study fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Teaching of Academic Subjects) and bachelor’s studies (study program of Chemistry and joint degree study in the study program of Chemistry), a member of the defense and final examination committee for extended study, a member of attestation committee for the first/second attestation of pedagogical employees, and a member of the examination committee for continuous innovative education. She is a member of the National Selection Committee of the CEEPUS program in the field of natural sciences and, since 2019, she has been a member of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.
