Selected projects

VEGA: Artificial Intelligence from the Perspective of Law and Ethics (ID: 1/0643/20). Investigator. The project aims to examine different areas of international law as well as EU law in relation to selected aspects of artificial intelligence, such as subjectivity of robots, ethical standards in their use, derivation of responsibility for their behavior and use of autonomous weapons in times of peace and armed conflict.

Internal scientific grant system PCOV: Proposal of methodical procedure of non-governmental organizations in case of catastrophe in conditions of Slovak republic (ID: 2018-945). Investigator. The aim of the project was to develop a draft methodological procedure that regulates the activities of non-governmental organizations in the event of disasters, as well as their cooperation with the state affected by the disaster. The Slovak and English versions of the proposal are a prerequisite for its usability, not only for the authorities of the Slovak Republic and Slovak non-governmental organizations, but also for foreign non-governmental organizations. The aim of the project was to make the study of international law more attractive through a publication that introduces students to the decisions of international judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, through translation into Slovak and, for today, into a very popular electronic form. Main publication: https://unibook.upjs.sk/img/cms/2019/pravf/pripady-medzinarodneho-prava-verejneho.pdf

IPEL Internal Science Grant System: A Guide to the Study of Public International Law for Law Students (ID: 2020-1649). Principal investigator. The aim of the presented project is to develop an electronic interactive exercise book, which will also be available in the form of a mobile application for law students. The content of the publication is intended for teaching subjects related to public international law, especially with the subjects International Public Law I. and II., Department of Asylum Law, or in preparation for the state exam in the subject International Law.

APVV: Green Ambitions for Sustainable Development (European Green Deal) (ID: APVV-20-0576). Investigator. The basic goal of the project task is to assess the coherence of the objectives of the European Green Agreement with existing legal instruments aimed at environmental protection, climate neutrality and biodiversity conservation. The given goals can be examined horizontally and vertically. Horizontal analysis can take place across individual areas of law affected by climate neutrality and biodiversity (environmental law, human rights, the rights of international organizations, investment law, etc.). The vertical analysis assumes that the objectives of the Europe Green Deal need to be examined in terms of their consistency with those of the international community established at United Nations level and, conversely, that the objectives of the Europe Green Deal should be in accordance with national law, namely, Slovak Republic.
