The field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings surgery is defined by the theoretical and scientifical knowledge in surgery and including the subspeciaties: general surgery, gastroenterological surgery, urology, orthopaedy, traumatology, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, cardiosurgery and anesthesiology.

The field of habilitation and inauguration proceedings surgery also includes the knowledges from related theoretical, preclinical and clinical medical disciplines, as well as knowledge from related medical and scientific disciplines.
