Field of Habilitation and Inauguration Proceedings
The Mathematics, as the Field of Habilitation and Inauguration Proceeding, is - in the most general sense - defined by the study of the structure, properties and interrelationships of abstract objects (including idealized concepts and models of reality) using formal and rigorous methods based on basic knowledge of calculating, measuring and describing shapes and forms. Its basic characteristic is high accuracy and derivation of the statements validity on the basis of formal mathematical proofs using strict logical derivation rules.
The Mathematics, as the Field of Habilitation and Inauguration Proceeding, is defined, in terms of content, by both classical mathematical disciplines (logic and set theory, mathematical analysis, topology, number theory, algebra, discrete mathematics, geometry) as well as mathematical disciplines focused on applications (probability theory and statistics, theory of computability, numerical mathematics, mathematical optimization and operational research), resp. mathematically oriented interdisciplinary sciences such as bioinformatics, cryptology, cybernetics or mathematical economics.
